It can kind of work but there are some clunky steps and you need to make sure it is updating. I have done some testing with the Vonk Data nodes to see if I could link two comps by having them reference an external data source like a text file. It would be awesome to be able to unlink or "de-instance" some parameters as well. However, I would love to see the ability for comps to be able to be linked inside resolve. There are things that I really like about how resolve does this and at times I really like being able to get versions made quickly by copying the comp and making adjustments. ![]() but this only really helps if it is a generic adjustment or look. depending on what the setting are you are applying it might work to have the settings applied to an adjustment clip. In resolve the behavior is to make a new comp instead of link to a "master comp" there are positives to this as well. I do cut downs all the time as well and this is for sure a bit of a pain point in Resolve. once you have sent or a clip to After Effects (or imported an After Effects comp into Premiere) you can copy that into your "cut downs" and any edits would then update all instances of the comp. ![]() If I understand you correctly you would like to be able to have a "shared" comp right? Like the behavior you might get in the Adobe products.
